I've juggled MANY different diets in the past and it's always been about weight. I failed to see the big picture. The whole picture. Oh yeah Mind body soul yada yada yada. - Simplicity - I believe in simplicity. How often do you search recipes and discover you are missing one exotic important ingredient. I sure have. Nutrition does not have to be complicated. My focus is on SOUL foods (Seasonal, Organic (when you can) Unprocessed, and Local. Whole foods, minimal ingredients and tada you are on the road to a healthy new you.
- Challenges - I understand the challenges many individuals face when it comes to everyday healthy living. Lets be realistic. Families are busy. Work and home life are very unbalanced, which creates many obstacles that you will face in your day-to-day schedule. This is about you and what you can incorporate into your schedule. I take the time to get you know your interests and routines in order to create and individual plan that works for you and your family.
- Restrictions - Yes there will be some. HOWEVER. these are your choices. I'm sure you have certain foods that you cannot live with out, (or atleast you don't think you can) That's fine. We can work around it. Confession time, mine is coffee. Hot, cold, warm, yesterdays (ok not that desperate) It's not a change I'm ready for. I'm keeping my coffee. Yes I have other restrictions, but you should see the list of ADDITIONS I have, i'm not really missing anything and neither will you.
- Sure you can pick up any diet book and start following it. That is not what I'm about. You are unique. You do not belong in a one-size fits all program. I want you to succeed. Step by step, we will get you through that marathon. If you need daily, weekly, monthly assistance we will work out what works for YOU. The goal is that by using these tools you will have lasting, sustainable and most importantly, enjoyable changes that you can use for life.
Are you struggling to build a positive relationship with food and your body in partnership? That's huge! I feel that your answers may not be in the food choices just now. There are no cheat meals/days an such. Be gentle with yourself and recognize that self concepts and food concepts are separate things but also work together. Allowing yourself permission to gradually work on both these choices will come together organically as you begin to balance yourself.
