I'm enjoying a cup of coffee in my favorite mug. (Yes it has a chip, but I still use and love it). Just thinking about stuff. Wondering how am I'm going to get everything done. I can't do everything. I need to start making time for the things I want to do. This needs to be my priority today. I think I will have another cup and re-evaluate. This is a list I've used for a few years. I don't know who the source is (sorry) But it seems to keep my anxiety over projects and commitments in somewhat order.
I think I struggle the most with number 6. "know when to cut" Or mostly, when to say No. I am a bit of a people pleaser. Saying that simple word no, adds on a ton of guilt, does it not? I took a course a few years ago about objections. I always follow up my no with a .. because, I have to ______________. excuse. Sorry no I cannot help with your project because I am______________. which normally follows up with, I guess I could squeeze it in. I have learned to just say No. the end. No, No thank you. No can do. Just no. It is not an easy process. Try it. You do not have to explain your reasons. I think that I have just discovered that my "Me time" has become a necessity, I lived far too long without it. Prioritize. Prioritize, Prioritize what is important to you. I'd love to hear your tips and tricks too. #itsallaboutpriorities

So this course was not anything that I thought it was going to be. I was excited to learn more about the oils from a new source. You know sometimes you need a new perspective and information. Well this Aromatherapy Auriculartherapy class was not that. Well that's not true it was that just not what I was looking for. The study of auriculartherapy is that of the ears and how to is the stimulation of acupuncture points on the external ear surface for the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions in other areas of the body. This is done with oils and not needles. Very interesting course. I actually did not know this even existed. I've heard of reflexology and it's similar. I had to do several sessions on volunteers and most of them said "WHAT?!?!" You heard me. Sit down I'm going to look at your ears. poke this metal prodder thing in it (or I have a fancy crystal!) and put special oils on different pulse points. Um ok. If anything its a very relaxing 30 minutes, and you may learn something about yourself. I can do it if anyone wants a session. Obviously you would need to be local (mid-michigan) send me a message or call me. and we can set something up.
Since I've been working on these accelerated classes and working full time. I feel I completely missed out on summer. Time. everyone has it, yet nobody has it. Wow pretty deep there. I'm sitting here at the end of august with a few regrets. Didn't do this, didn't do that..and now summer is over. This is one area of my life I am changing. I have to have balance. We all need balance. I am discovering that I focus on one area and let the others go. That method has not suited me. Yes I'm learning many new things and I am on my own action plan journey, but even I need to slow down and just enjoy. I know what I need to do, I just need to apply it. Are you struggling the same way? If your out there, lets talk. I have several pro-bono consultations to do over the next year. lets call it homework (aha) It could be your lucky day. Skype - google hangout (if I've figured it out) messenger, email, facebook, text. It's really a no pressure session. email me @ [email protected] and we can figure it out.
