I'm enjoying a cup of coffee in my favorite mug. (Yes it has a chip, but I still use and love it). Just thinking about stuff. Wondering how am I'm going to get everything done. I can't do everything. I need to start making time for the things I want to do. This needs to be my priority today. I think I will have another cup and re-evaluate. This is a list I've used for a few years. I don't know who the source is (sorry) But it seems to keep my anxiety over projects and commitments in somewhat order.
I think I struggle the most with number 6. "know when to cut" Or mostly, when to say No. I am a bit of a people pleaser. Saying that simple word no, adds on a ton of guilt, does it not? I took a course a few years ago about objections. I always follow up my no with a .. because, I have to ______________. excuse. Sorry no I cannot help with your project because I am______________. which normally follows up with, I guess I could squeeze it in. I have learned to just say No. the end. No, No thank you. No can do. Just no. It is not an easy process. Try it. You do not have to explain your reasons. I think that I have just discovered that my "Me time" has become a necessity, I lived far too long without it. Prioritize. Prioritize, Prioritize what is important to you. I'd love to hear your tips and tricks too. #itsallaboutpriorities

So many bags of this and that in my kitchen and bathroom. I decided to just put all those odds and ends in jars. Cotton balls, bath salts, q-tips, band aids. Hair ties & hobby pins. These little things just make a messy cupboard. Here I have a Snapple bottle, a peanut butter jar, and a pickle jar. Just wash and fill. It certainly looks prettier. I later painted the tops so they all matched. It just looks more pleasing and I saved a few jars from going to the landfill. Now onto tackle the kitchen cupboards. #recycling #greenliving #greensoulwellness #bathroomjars
I used to think Affirmations were just a bunch of bunk. Honestly. who stands in the bathroom, looking in the mirror and says these things. These ooey gooey sappy words and phrases. So what, these are just supposed to sink into your mind and your day is going to be awesome? yeah. well. I'm not really about all that. I suppose it's true I come from a lot of negative thinking. doom and gloom. worry. So these mantras are just ridiculous to me.
I had a store manager that called me into his office one day and told me all about this book about "changing the culture". From now on, he tells me, everything we say will be above the negative line. um what? yes. Everything you say will have a positive spin on it. Sure. I'm positive this is a stupid experiment. ha. And that's exactly what happened. we failed miserably at this experiment. I don't know if it was the way he presented it or what. A few years later, I took a class and guess what. 90% of it was about Self talk. flashbacks were happening. Mantras were now part of my daily life for 45 days. I did them. But I didn't believe them. "You are beautiful" I would tell myself, I had to refrain from adding the "except for your nose" or whatever was bothering me that day. I'm not sure when it happened, later, months later I started collecting them on Pinterest. Oh I still have some negative ones because, well lets face it, it's who I am. but I have had a mind shift. I am awesome. I do deserve happiness. Yes good things can happen to me. I don't know why I didn't believe it before, but I do now. I try to remove the negativity from my life. It's not possible. I just have to work a little harder in letting it go and letting more good in. I encourage you to re-examine your thoughts on affirmations. Positive Self Talk is so important. Shifting your focus is hard but so worth it. You will find your self in many more moments of happiness and laughter than you can imagine. Your postive vibes will attract others with positive vibes. I'm seriously not making this stuff up. try it. Right now say "I deserve it" did you laugh or smirk just a bit. yeah... you know I'm right about this. |
